Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Month Winners

The Winner of November’s Volunteer of the Month draw is Tianna Whitman Hunt.

Tianna was nominated for Volunteers of the Week by Wendy Doucet with Webster Hall.

They wrote ‘Tianna is 15 years old and has been an amazing volunteer for the Webster Hall helping with all of their events to raise money for the Hall and provide Community Service. She loves to dedicate her time in supporting her Community and giving back, at such a young age and we are all so very appreciative, and proud if her.’

The Winner of October’s Volunteer of the Month draw is Brenda Henning.

Brenda was nominated for Volunteers of the Week by the Alberta Genealogical Society, Grande Prairie & District Branch.

They wrote ‘Brenda is our Branch’s membership person and keeps us informed of developments and updates from the Provincial Body. She sits on the Membership Committee with representatives from other branches and help formulate the policies and procedures for attracting and maintaining members across the province. We also appreciate Brenda’s volunteering of her time, expertise and assistance locally that helps keep GP & District Branch operating.’

The Winner of September’s Volunteer of the Month draw is Kelly Sage!

Kelly was nominated for Volunteers of the Week by The Town of Sexsmith FCSS, they wrote ‘Kelly Sage is a person you will see helping out in so many places, and she is always positive. The students and staff at Sexsmith St. Mary’s School are lucky to have her. Kelly dedicates a lot of time to the St. Mary’s lunch program; she has helped organize and coach St. Mary’s after school developmental sports programs for atomic volleyball and basketball. This year Kelly has stepped up to be the head volunteer coach for volleyball this year. Kelly also volunteers for the afterschool literacy support. Kelly, has participated in several community and highway clean ups. She is a member of the Family and Community Support Services Board and was nominated and received the “Excellence in Education”, recognizing Service Above Self from Rotary 2024.’

The Winner of August’s Volunteer of the Month draw is Fatima Gueye!

Fatima was nominated for Volunteers of the Week by Almas Choudhry! Almas wrote ‘Fatima and her organization provide back-to-school supplies and snacks to local schools. She provides regular donations of personal care items to Wapiti House. She has recently volunteered at Rib Fest, GP Airshow, City scrub and Street Fest. We appreciate Fatima and her association for all her volunteer work and generous donations to the community including Babies Best Start and Pregnancy Care Center.’

The Winner of July’s Volunteer of the Month draw is Jancey Dolen!

Jancey was nominated for Volunteers of the Week by Grande Prairie and District Grief Support Association. They wrote ‘Jancey Dolen, volunteered last year for us and made such an amazing impact on the kids and other volunteers at camp, her compassionate nature and warm smile made everyone feel comfortable around her. We are immensely grateful for her and the skills she uses as a wellness coach with the connect team to bring forth to Camp Heal-A-Heart, I know that no matter where you will go in life that you will be successful. Thank you again for volunteering last year and this year!’

The Winner of June’s Volunteer of the Month draw is Edward Sizer! Edward was nominated for Volunteers of the Week by Elders Caring Shelter Society. They wrote ‘This individual is a great helper at the Elders Caring Shelter. He volunteers profusely with the Shelter to help with fundraising, yard work, and anything else we ask him to do. He also helps the community by going over to “Helping Hands” and helping them with sorting items and packaging for their clients.’

The Winner of May’s Volunteer of the Month draw is Davina Dawson! Davina was nominated for Volunteers of the Week by Grande Prairie and District Grief Support Association (Camp Heal A Heart). They wrote ‘Davina had Volunteered for camp last year and will be doing it again this year, I want to show our appreciation towards her this year. She has a vast knowledge base on mental health and education, it was an asset when she was interacting with the kids. She is authentically herself and her self awareness brought confidence to the campers and they got to “live out loud” without the fear of being rejected.’

They wrote ‘Bob has been volunteering for us for years, he is active in and deeply committed to making our community a better place. We know we can depend on Bob. Many thanks for being there!’
