Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week

Grovedale Community Club and Agricultural Society nominates Joanne Bremner for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Joanne is the heart of our community, she is involved in so many ways! She never wants recognition and always shows up with a smile and contagious laugh. She keeps our arena running in tip top shape for all of our user groups always cooking pancake breakfast at the school and does all the bookings at the hall to name a small portion of what she does. Our community is very fortunate to have Joanne.’

Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning nominates Deb Normington for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Thank you Deb for donating your time to people who need it more than most of us do. The world would be a much lonelier place if it wasn’t filled with the likes of caring people like yourself.’

Jennifer Bergen with Clairmont Community Church nominates Andrea Bergen for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! Jennifer wrote ‘Andrea Bergen is passionate about helping children have a fun, safe space to grow in their faith! She coordinates the children’s church program at Clairmont Community Church & does a terrific job of it! Andrea is always the first to greet a newcomer with a smile & a tour of the space!’

Pregnancy Care Centre nominates Jodi Lojczyc for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Jodi volunteers helping with our fundraising events, organizing, contacting donors, running errands, and helping with all the set up and take down. We are so thankful for all her hard work and dedication.’

Pregnancy Care Centre nominates Heidi Kraun for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Heidi is a blessing to our organization. She provides us with fresh honey for the kitchen, baking for events, snacks for hungry babies, and teaching clients about meal prep and cooking on a budget. Heidi may be quiet but she is well loved by all of us.’

Pregnancy Care Centre nominates Andrea Ferh for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Andrea is a long-time volunteer who’s gentle and discerning spirit along with training on grief and trauma make her a great support worker. Andrea shows up on good days and hard days, inspiring both the staff and clients with her authenticity.’

Pregnancy Care Centre nominates Sherri Cardinal for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Sherri is a wonderful addition to our team of volunteers. A busy mom and student herself, she has been willing and flexible to help anywhere she is needed. Sherri is eager to learn about all the ways she can support her community and work for social justice. We are looking forward to having Sherri join us around the Centre as often as possible.’

Wendy Doucet with Webster Hall nominates Tianna Whitman Hunt for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! Wendy wrote ‘Tianna is 15 years old and has been an amazing volunteer for the Webster Hall helping with all of their events to raise money for the Hall and provide Community Service. She loves to dedicate her time in supporting her Community and giving back, at such a young age and we are all so very appreciative, and proud of her.’

Alberta Genealogical Society, Grande Prairie & District Branch nominates Gail Schau for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Gail has been GP & District Branch Librarian for more than 20 years. She manages our genealogical collection of books and periodicals in the Isabel Campbell Room in Grande Prairie Public Library. Due to Gail’s vigilance for used book opportunities, we have an impressive collection of Community History Books from across the province. Gail has also volunteered to help look after our finances by taking on the local shared Treasurer’s position. We appreciate Gail’s dedication and her many talents that help keep the GP & District Branch operating.’

Pregnancy Care Centre nominates Filomena Janzen for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Fil comes to the centre every week to organize our donation room. Without Fil we would not have our beautiful boutique for clients. Everything is beautifully labeled, organized, and easy to find. She creates beautiful baskets for each baby who is born, lovingly filled to the brim with all the things mom and baby might need the first few days. Fil has a great laugh and a big heart. We are so thankful for her presence and support in the centre.’

Alberta Genealogical Society, Grande Prairie & District Branch nominates Brenda Henning for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Brenda is our Branch’s membership person and keeps us informed of developments and updates from the Provincial Body. She sits on the Membership Committee with representatives from other branches and help formulate the policies and procedures for attracting and maintaining members across the province. We also appreciate Brenda’s volunteering of her time, expertise and assistance locally that helps keep GP & District Branch operating.’
