Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta nominates Ally Bustamante for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Ally Bustamante helps the community by empowering youth with essential financial literacy skills through her volunteer work with Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta. She has dedicated numerous hours to delivering Dollars with Sense sessions, teaching students about budgeting, saving, and responsible money management. Her engaging and adaptable teaching style ensures students gain valuable knowledge that will help them make informed financial decisions in the future. Ally’s commitment to education and mentorship creates a lasting positive impact on the next generation, fostering financial confidence and independence in young learners.’

Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society nominates Alexis Gitzel for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Alexis embodies the true spirit of volunteerism, consistently demonstrating generosity, dedication, and compassion. She not only contributes her time and effort to our events and Hospice initiatives but also goes above and beyond by providing additional support through donations. Her unwavering commitment to the Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society is evident in her actions, always approaching her work with passion and a genuine desire to make a difference.’

Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities nominates Trudy Beyer for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Trudy has been a volunteer for Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities since April of 2022. Trudy’s cheerful assistance with administrative tasks like data entry, filing and organization is always appreciated and we look forward to her arrival each week. Trudy also volunteers regularly at many other organizations in our community and we think she deserves a round of applause!’

Grande Prairie Friendship Centre nominates Sonja Hartt Towle for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Sonja is a joyful and passionate volunteer! From the moment she started volunteering with us she has given it her all even during the crazy moments. Not only has Sonja devoted many hours a week to our community kitchen and volunteered at our events, she has inspired her son to join our team of volunteers. The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre and specifically our community kitchen absolutely love Sonja and are immensely grateful for her.’

Tiny Hands of Hope nominates Bethany Francis for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Bethany is the current board president of Tiny Hands of Hope and a dedicated leader who truly cares about making a difference. She is passionate about growing the organization to better support families and leads initiatives that promote self-care and community connection. Bethany is always looking for ways to give back, whether through new programs, fundraising efforts, or simply offering support to those who need it most. Her commitment and vision help ensure that Tiny Hands of Hope continues to make a meaningful impact.’

Town of Sexsmith FCSS nominates Neil Peacock for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘We are thrilled to recognize Neil for his outstanding dedication and service to our community. Neil helps plan the Chautauqua Day Car Show, Graduation Car Parade, and supports The Sexsmith and Area Food bank on a regular basis to name a few. Neil’s passion and commitment to making our car shows successful have not gone unnoticed. From helping to organize the Chautauqua Day Car Show, to organizing the Graduation Parade for grads to ride in antique vehicles through the community. Neil brings enthusiasm and spirit that make each show special. Entry fees are always donated to the Sexsmith and Area Food Bank. Neil has a gift that he says he received from his mom, to help people in need”. His personal donations to The Sexsmith and Area Foodbank ensure that families in need receive meat, as well as non-perishable donations from his Car Shows. Volunteers like Neil are the heart of the community, and it is because of his community commitment that we are able to achieve so much.
The Town of Sexsmith is fortunate to have volunteers like Neil, and we are continually inspired by his generosity. The difference he makes in the lives of others is immeasurable, and we hope he knows how much he is appreciated.’

Pregnancy Care Centre Grande Prairie nominates Kristin Plett for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Kristin is a long-term volunteer who is always up for the task of supporting many different clients. She is kind and compassionate and dedicated to increasing her knowledge for supporting clients. We are honoured to have Kristin as part of our volunteer team.’

Grovedale Community Club and Agricultural Society nominates Joanne Bremner for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Joanne is the heart of our community, she is involved in so many ways! She never wants recognition and always shows up with a smile and contagious laugh. She keeps our arena running in tip top shape for all of our user groups always cooking pancake breakfast at the school and does all the bookings at the hall to name a small portion of what she does. Our community is very fortunate to have Joanne.’

Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning nominates Deb Normington for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Thank you Deb for donating your time to people who need it more than most of us do. The world would be a much lonelier place if it wasn’t filled with the likes of caring people like yourself.’

Jennifer Bergen with Clairmont Community Church nominates Andrea Bergen for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! Jennifer wrote ‘Andrea Bergen is passionate about helping children have a fun, safe space to grow in their faith! She coordinates the children’s church program at Clairmont Community Church & does a terrific job of it! Andrea is always the first to greet a newcomer with a smile & a tour of the space!’

Pregnancy Care Centre nominates Jodi Lojczyc for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Jodi volunteers helping with our fundraising events, organizing, contacting donors, running errands, and helping with all the set up and take down. We are so thankful for all her hard work and dedication.’

Pregnancy Care Centre nominates Heidi Kraun for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Heidi is a blessing to our organization. She provides us with fresh honey for the kitchen, baking for events, snacks for hungry babies, and teaching clients about meal prep and cooking on a budget. Heidi may be quiet but she is well loved by all of us.’
