Janice on her own time enjoys her hobby farm with her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and her great-grandchild. She brings a loving warmth to daycare that always has a positive effect on whichever children are in for the day, be it infants or toddlers, all children love her. Janice has gone above and beyond to ensure that each child’s individual needs are met and has no problem jumping in wherever she is needed, which has been hugely beneficial. Janice and her Husband even went so far as to dress up as Mr. and Mrs. Clause for our Christmas party which brought so much joy to the kids! Talk about going over and above! We are so lucky to have her and all of her joyous, caring energy. We look forward to all of our future daycare adventures together. ‘

Khris has demonstrated exceptional organizational skills with her meticulous planning and attention to detail ensuring the smooth execution of the silent auction. Her ability to think outside the box significantly elevated the fundraising potential of the auction with her creative ideas. Her dedication to her role went beyond the call of duty. She invested countless hours, often working late into the night, to ensure that every aspect of the auction was to be flawlessly executed. Her unwavering commitment was a driving force behind the event’s success, raising $7300 for the Compassion House Foundation this year. She demonstrated exceptional communication and collaboration skills, working seamlessly with volunteers, donors, and other stakeholders. Her ability to build positive relationships and foster a collaborative spirit was instrumental in creating a cohesive team dedicated to a common goal. Under Khris’ leadership, the silent auction achieved unprecedented success in terms of fundraising. They wrote ‘Darlene is a welcomed member of the volunteer team for the CYP Project Thrift Shop. Darlene, a teacher, is since retired, and now enjoys playing ‘Grandma’ to all her little boys! She and her husband travel to be with their children whenever possible, especially because it takes them on many trips to the Maritimes!!!. Darlene loves to garden, cook, golf, attend music concerts and socializing/planning events within her neighborhood. Darlene works in a variety of capacities at the store. Mostly, you can find her washing the various children’s toys and assembling all the components. It is proven helpful to be a Grandma who is knowledgeable in that area!!! Darlene’s vibrant personality is welcomed each week she volunteers. Her robust laugh cannot go unnoticed and is certainly infectious to all of us working in the back room with her. Shirley comes to us after more than a decade of volunteer work in Cranbrook. She is enjoying life in the Peace Country, along with her puppy, and enjoys family time with her daughter and her family. She is a hard-working lady who willingly gives of her time at the thrift shop every week.
