Centre for Young Parents nominates for Rhonda Thomson Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Rhonda has been a member of our Board of Directors for many years. As our current Board Chair, Rhonda continually strives to assist the Centre’s staff with her encouragement and knowledge of the non-profit sector. Rhonda worked as the Administration & Grants Manager for the Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta. Rhonda is now off on a new adventure and will be greatly missed by all of us here at the Centre. Thank you for your dedication to our community Rhonda!’

Sexsmith Tumbling Club nominates Kelly Wald for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Kelly joined our volunteer board just within the last 6 months, but the difference she has already made is amazing! Kelly had taken on the position of Facility Manager and has worked hard to clean up our space, revamp our concession, and make sure we are stocked with all the supplies we need for day to day operations. We didn’t realize how much we needed this position filled until we saw the huge difference it makes! Thank you to Kelly for contributing hours of effort to the Sexsmith Tumbling Club!’

Sexsmith FCSS nominates Leslie Boisvert for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Leslie is a very valuable member of RWZ Elementary school in Sexsmith.   In addition to being an excellent E.A. who supports the students in our school, she also volunteers her time to coordinate and work in the Breakfast Club every day.   After school, you can find her in the gym volunteering to help with the volleyball or basketball program.  If that isn’t enough, she also is a volunteer leader for the local Girl Guides and she also volunteers for the after-school Board Game Club. If the school could clone her, they would!’

Sexsmith Playschool Society nominates Christine Dueck for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Christine is a Rockstar Volunteer! While being a parent, she took on the role of Vice-President and Fundraising Coordinator. We would be lost without all her hard work and dedication to our school. Thank you Christine for an amazing year.’

Grande Prairie Family Education Society nominates Eileen Kent for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Eileen has been an incredible volunteer with Coats for Kids this year. She welcome’s everyone in the building with kindness and does her best to ensure no one leaves empty handed!’

Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning nominates Barb Warner for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘We nominate our volunteer tutor, Barb Warner, because this year, she has graciously given her time and expertise to tutor 7 learners in helping them prepare for the CELPIP Test. Barb is a passionate, caring and remarkable lady who enjoys helping our students succeed. She is an inspiration to us all, and we are very grateful to have her on our team. Thank you, Barb, for your willingness to donate your time and talents.’

Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers nominates Mamyda Ngoie Mwilambwe for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Mamyda Ngoie Mwilambwe has been a volunteer for us for only a few months but her contributions to our organization has been invaluable! She is our volunteer of the week, month, year! She has helped us with so many programs including being an amazing leader for our summer day camp, leading a cultural booth for Heritage day, and stepping in with administrative help when we needed it most. Thank you so much Mamyda! Merci Beaucoup!’

Sexsmith FCSS nominates Barbara London for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Barbara London is a familiar face in the volunteer community of Sexsmith.  Barbara London has recently retired from St. Mary’s School in Sexsmith where she taught and volunteered for many years. Barbara is always volunteering where she is needed.  Barbara sat on the FCSS Board for many years helping the community grow and ensuring events were perfect. We would like to say thank you for all you do for our community.’

Joven Redhead – Grande Prairie Minor Baseball nominates Neil Weston for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! Joven wrote ‘A fun coach that motivates each player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the sport and the athletes.’

Rotary Club of Grande Prairie nominates Kevin O’Toole for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Kevin volunteers regularly with the clubs barbeque crew, cooking up hotdogs and hamburgers at community events many weekends in the summer. He was one of the first to step up when volunteers were needed 6 days in a row for various events including the community food drive, a casino and numerous barbeques. He shows up when it time to set up all the picnic tables at the campground. He helped move furniture to set up living spaces for many of the refugee families the club assisted. He is always one of the first to put his name down for a volunteer shift.’

Rotary Club of Grande Prairie nominates Randy Beairsto for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Randy volunteers regularly with the club and is often one of the first to put his name forward. He was one of the first to step up when volunteers were needed 6 days in a row for various events including the community food drive, a casino and numerous barbeques. He shows up when it time to set up all the picnic tables at the campground.’

They wrote ‘Mark volunteers regularly with the clubs barbeque crew, cooking up hotdogs and hamburgers at community events many weekends in the summer. He was one of the first to step up when volunteers were needed 6 days in a row for various events including the community food drive, a casino and numerous barbeques. He shows up when its time to set up all the picnic tables at the campground. In addition to that he volunteers on the fundraising association for his children’s school playground.’
