Grande Prairie Ski Patrol Association nominates Wayne Mayell for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Wayne has been part of the Canadian Ski Patrol for DECADES! He has been volunteering with the Grande Prairie Ski Patrol Association which is part of the Canadian Ski Patrol for many many years. He has helped mentor many ski patrollers over the years. Wayne volunteers well over 200 hours a year on the hill providing first aid and promoting safety at Nitehawk, but he also puts in many unaccounted-for hours behind the scenes for the Grande Prairie Ski Patrol by taking inventory of our supplies and ensuring we are stocked, inputting accident reports, archiving all our meeting minutes among many other things including but not limited to cleaning the first aid room. I would just like to let Wayne know that I see all the work he does and am truly appreciative of it. Wayne takes his first aid training and helps out at various events around time as well as Nitehawk.’

When the previous chair of the Beaverlodge Food Bank retired, Cassie stepped up without hesitation to take on the role, a responsibility that is far from small. The food bank serves a wide geographic area, and Cassie is always there, volunteering her time to ensure those in need are supported. No matter the day or hour, Cassie is the first to respond, ready to drop everything to help someone in need. Her dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts have become an invaluable part of our community. In a time when it’s increasingly difficult to find committed volunteers, Cassie truly embodies the spirit of service. She consistently seeks new ways to assist others, always with humility and grace. Cassie is not just an incredible volunteer; she is a cornerstone of our town, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her.’

The Town of Sexsmith FCSS nominates Kelly Sage for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Kelly Sage is a person you will see helping out in so many places, and she is always positive. The students and staff at Sexsmith St. Mary’s School are lucky to have her. Kelly dedicates a lot of time to the St. Mary’s lunch program; she has helped organize and coach St. Mary’s after school developmental sports programs for atomic volleyball and basketball. This year Kelly has stepped up to be the head volunteer coach for volleyball this year. Kelly also volunteers for the afterschool literacy support. Kelly, has participated in several community and highway clean ups. She is a member of the Family and Community Support Services Board and was nominated and received the “Excellence in Education”, recognizing Service Above Self from Rotary 2024.’
