Seniors Outreach – Snow Fairies nominates Katie Kons for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Katie and her fiancé volunteered as Snow Fairies after hearing about the program on the radio and seeing it on Facebook. They wanted volunteer their time and efforts to help a couple of seniors with their snow removal through the winter and they have done a great job! Thank You!’

United for Literacy nominates Marian Mark for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘United for Literacy has been extremely fortunate to have had Marian as our volunteer the past five years. It is a true reflection of her character and dedication to our community. Marian is generous with her time and knowledge. She takes great care in tailoring her lesson plans to suit her learner’s needs and interests. We are all so grateful to have Marian on our team as she always brings a smile to everyone’s face! Thank you, Marian, for all that you do.’

Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society (PARDS) nominates Ellen Archibald for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Ellen Archibald is one of our many Rockstar volunteers. She has shared her leadership skills with us as a valued member of our Board as well as her personal and professional experience to assist with program development. When PARDS identified a gap in mental health supports available to those experiencing trauma, Ellen immediately stepped up to share her knowledge, network and passion for Animal Assisted Therapy. With her on the team, we were able to structure a program aimed toward youth to build coping strategies and skills to better deal with future stresses and traumatic situations and support those who have encountered a traumatic event to work through and process the experience. Thank you, Ellen, for all you do and give and your deep commitment to building a strong community.’

United for Literacy nominates Jessica Reid for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Miss. Jessica has been a wonderful addition to the United for Literacy team. Her kindness and compassion shine brightly as she shares her love of books with her students. Jessica always keeps her sessions fun with lots of laughs and learning. Thank you, Jessica, sharing your time and for being a positive role model.’

Seniors Outreach – Snow Fairies nominates Mitch Pals for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Mitch has volunteered as a Snow Fairy this winter to help clear snow for a couple of seniors in his area. Thank you Mitch for supporting our program and for volunteering your time!’

Valhalla Community School nominates Bryanna Rundle for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Bryanna always has a smile on her face and is there whenever we need her. When other parents are not able to make it, Bryanna is always more than willing to help. There have been multiple days when she has helped make lunches for our students or brought goodies when we needed more. She is a busy mom of 4 but always makes time for helping out at our school.’

Seniors Outreach – Snow Fairies nominates Jaimie Jackson for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘The Snow Fairies is a volunteer program where a person or group is assigned to a senior to their driveway free of snow and ice for the winter. This is Jaimie’s second winter volunteering as a Snow Fairy for our snow removal program. It means so much to have people like her who volunteer their time to help the seniors in our community! Thank You Jaimie!’

Melissa Lofstrom with AMA Safety Patrollers nominates Jacob Fajardo for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! Melissa wrote ‘Jacob is a very reliable AMA Patroller. He is always on time and never misses a day of patrolling. Jacob independently gets himself to school on time for patrol and is always willing to help out when someone isn’t able to make their day. Jacob is a friendly person and is always looking for ways to help others. He is more than deserving!’

Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society (PARDS) nominates Nancy Ingram for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Nancy volunteers in many ways at PARDS. She comes numerous days throughout the week to lead horses or sidewalk with our therapeutic riders who require support. As a retired school teacher, she has offered support with educational ideas for our Literacy Program and her playful, fun-loving nature has made our young riders in the Little Pony Motricity Program feel confident and leaving with giggles and smiles. We have joked that we should put a cot in the barn because of the time she offers to our riders; as she is usually one of the first to jump in when another volunteer is away. Thank you Nancy for your continued support ensuring PARDS riders have an enjoyable and safe lesson!’

Centre for Young Parents nominates Char Kaytor for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Char has been volunteering in the First Steps Drop in Childcare Centre since 2019. Char is enjoying her retirement spending her time camping and traveling as much as possible. We appreciate Char’s flexibility and understanding when plans change last minute. Kids of all ages enjoy playing with Char, and busy or quiet we can always rely on Char to help out wherever needed. Thank you Char for donating your most valuable asset – your time!’

Charity Chaulk with the Maude Clifford Public School AMA Patrollers nominates Misha Patel for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! Charity wrote ‘I am nominating Misha because she is a hardworking and reliable member of our patrolling team. Misha is one of the first outside and is always reliable. She works hard and takes the task seriously; consistently making sure the students of the school are safe crossing the road.’

Helping Hands Society of Grande Prairie nominates Jenn Ash for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Jenn is so incredibly valuable to our organization. She spends countless hours shopping, organizing, and helping keep us on track. Without her, we wouldn’t be able to help families in need in our city and we want her to know just how thankful we are for her abilities.‘
