The Wembley & District Agricultural Society nominates Natasha Boileau-Byrne for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Natasha has been with the Wembley & District Agricultural Society for 4 years and had offered countless hours to the organization. She started as a director and moved to secretary and now treasurer. She had a big heart and kind soul. She has brought numerous programs to our town. She is Chair of the Fall Fair committee and assists with many of committed without our organization.’

The Grande Prairie Family Education Society nominates Brina Garberg for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Brina is one of those volunteers any organization would be lucky to have! She’s was a invaluable volunteer with Coats for Kids and we love having her around so much, she now volunteers with childminding during our Parent Education programs. We love her positive attitude and always so helpful!’

The Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers nominates Gavin Pon for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Gavin started volunteering with us at the end of July 2022 as an English Conversation Club Facilitator and we are so grateful to have him on our team. He started as a substitute and is now regularly facilitating for us on Fridays. He has so much passion during his sessions and always ensures that all participants have the chance to talk, are able to share their personal experiences, and most of all have fun! Thank you Gavin!’

Tinseltown Winter Market nominates Erin Atkinson for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Erin goes above and beyond with her volunteer work ethic. She helps out wherever is needed and is always there when you need her. Her bubbly personality really makes her fun to work with.’

The Silver & Gold Club nominates Lorna Nordhagen for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Lorna has been a dedicated volunteer and Board member. During her term, Lorna designed our new club logo and organized two group social events for our members. During Seniors Week she assisted to co-host our community BBQ. If you ask any of our members they would agree that her weekly homemade treats are something we all look forward to!!’

Wembley & District Agricultural Society nominates Trina Hosack for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Trina is new to our board but has volunteered her time and efforts for us for years. She also serves as secretary on another board in our community! Thanks for giving your time, Trina!’

Friends of Grande Spirit Foundation nominates Donna Mayne for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Donna has been volunteering with the Friends of Grande Spirit Foundation for over 10 years and has been crucial to our Group. She is the main organizer of our Annual Golf Tournament, is a key player in organizing our biggest event, the Harvest Dine and Dance, helps Seniors on a daily basis, assisted us in delivering meals to Seniors in the Independent Lodges that we donated for special occasions throughout covid and is always on hand to help with gardening and so many other projects that come our way from each of our Seniors Lodges.’

Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning nominates Sheryl Stewart for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘We would like to recognize our volunteer tutor, Sheryl Stewart. She has been working with two of our English language learners to help them improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. We appreciate Sheryl’s’ teaching expertise as well as the amount of time, energy and dedication she has given to support these learners. We are lucky to have her on our team! Thank you, Sheryl!’

The Town of Beaverlodge FCSS nominates for Faye Dyrkach Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Faye has devoted herself for over two decades to the Beaverlodge Food Bank. She has touched or enriched the lives of others, particularly those who are vulnerable or less able to help themselves. Her commitment and dedication to helping others through the Food Bank is extraordinary. Faye puts in countless hours of service every year and goes over and above for anyone in need. Faye has encouraged and exemplified the virtue of good citizenship. She has truly inspired me to become more involved in the community, reach out to those who are not as privileged as ourselves, and share our talents with those around us in order to make a positive change in our community and our world.’

Victoria Lewis from Valhalla Community School nominates Penny Braseth for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! Victoria wrote ‘Penny always goes above and beyond for our school. She makes sure we are taken care of, steps in and cooks for camp outs, hot lunches, grad night, school extra curricular and more. She continually contributes and gives back by making sure teachers have what they need. Our school would be lost without her and we appreciate all that she does for it! Penny’s efforts not only helps the school but creates lasting memories for kids that goes beyond 4 walls – creating and guiding future community members!’

Centre for Young Parents nominates Julie Van Egmond for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Julie has been volunteering with the Centre for Young Parents since 2019. Julie loves to cuddle with the little babies in our First Steps Child Care Program. We appreciate Julie’s flexible schedule and willingness to jump in and help where needed. Thank you Julie!’

The Town of Sexsmith FCSS nominates Sharon Ophus for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Sharon has worked tirelessly, for five months, to restore, redesign and create new exhibits for the 5 + 1 historical buildings on 99 St. in Sexsmith. Her dedication has created a paradise of frontier memories to bring awe from even the novice Thank you Sharon.’
