Grande Prairie Pride Society nominates Krysta Gendreau for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Krysta is the light of every board meeting and event, always prepared with a smile and a great attitude and outlook. She has gone from being a “mom hugger” at our events to a board member running them and we couldn’t be happier to have her on board. Thank you for always keeping us on track and looking good!’

Grande Prairie Pride Society nominates Gordon Pellerin for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘It has been a pleasure having Gordon on our board. He is up to take on any task and brings a fresh perspective to our meetings, alongside his extensive experience in our community. We’re so excited to see what else Gordon can come up with in the next year!’

Grande Prairie Pride Society nominates Blaire Webster for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Blaire is an incredible member of our organisation, helping with innovative ways of doing things and being our guru when it comes to merch and shipping. He’s also essential when it comes to maintaining our website and graphics, especially when it comes to infinite changes! Thank you Blaire for your dedication.

Grande Prairie Pride Society nominates Johnathan Clarkson for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Having Johnathan on our board is an amazing thing. He comes with fresh ideas, especially when it comes to marketing and fundraising, and is willing to put in the work to make those ideas a reality. This year’s rainbow crosswalk painting was turned into an incredible event by his efforts to run a barbecue and provide space for people to enjoy themselves. Thank you Johnathan!’

He brings amazing historical knowledge of our organization and community and is always willing to help where needed. His speech at the Party in White was incredible. Thank you Mike for all your hard work!’

Grande Prairie Pride Society nominates Jessica Schoepp for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Jessica is truly invaluable to have on our board. She spent countless hours preparing for this year’s Pride activities, and even worked all of the events as a volunteer. She does this on top of her job, as a new mom in a busy household, alongside other volunteer commitments. Thank you Jessica for all you do!’

Frontier College nominates Marian Mark for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Marian has been a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic supporter of Frontier College for over two years. She has volunteered year-round in our 1-1 tutoring program and summer Reading Tent program. Last summer, Marian was integral to the success of our Reading Tents. She was extremely helpful in all aspects of the events, from set-up to tear-down and all of the children’s activities in between! Over the past school year, Marian shared her time, knowledge, patience, and kindness to help a young student improve her literacy skills. Marian joined in celebrating all of the Frontier College learners at their year-end party, which was a well-deserved event for everyone involved! Thanks for being such a wonderful volunteer, Marian! We appreciate you!’

Frontier College nominates Erika Smith for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Over the past two years, Erika has shared her time, energy, and passion for helping others with Frontier College. We were able to return to in-person tutoring this year and Erika jumped at the opportunity to work with several Grade 6 students. Her calm, kind, and light-hearted demeanor helped learners feel comfortable and supported when working on their reading skills. It was evident that Erika’s students enjoyed every session with her and greatly benefited from their time spent together. Erika is heading to school in the fall and, while she will be missed tremendously, we wish her all the best in the next chapter of her journey!’

Frontier College nominates Tanis Radoux for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Tanis has enthusiastically volunteered with Frontier College in our 1-to-1 school reading program and summer StoryWalk program. She builds deep connections with her learners and puts incredible time, effort, and creativity into her sessions. She truly follows Frontier College’s student-centred approach and makes learning personalized, engaging, and fun. Tanis has the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the school program; she continued to tutor online and was open to working with a new student part way through the school year. During the summer, her great communication, reliability, and weekend availability was immensely appreciated. We are grateful for Tanis’ ongoing support!’

Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning nominates Ashley Crossley for Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘We would like to nominate our volunteer tutor, Ashley Crossley, for Volunteer of the Week. She is currently working with 2 learners, customizing lesson plans based on their learning needs and goals. Ashley is patient, enthusiastic and very motivated in helping our students succeed in their career aspirations. We are extremely grateful to have Ashley on our team!’

Regional EMS Foundation nominates Naomi Ducklow for Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Naomi has been a volunteer on our board of directors for two years. She is an extremely dedicated volunteer with our foundation as well as a highly involved member of Rotary. As a not for profit recipient of the current Cash and Camping Campaign, Naomi really stepped up and rallied volunteers. Her efforts played an imperative role in our foundation to fulfill our obligation of ticket sellers at the booth. She continues to go over and above to support our community. We would love to send cheers to Naomi and thank her immensely for her efforts.’

Frontier College nominates Megan Visser for Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Megan is a valued, long-term volunteer with Frontier College. She is always eager to support our learners throughout the school year, often working with more than one which is appreciated by F.C and school staff alike. Megan comes to every session wearing a huge smile and has created truly meaningful connections with her students; it is clear that they love working with her too. Megan helped her Grade 3 student gain trust, confidence, and success when the student needed it most. Thank you for being such a passionate, dedicated volunteer to our program. We are so lucky that you return to share your knowledge, compassion, and time with our learners year after year. Thank you!’
