South Peace Regional Archives nominates Vivian Gail Prette for Volunteer of the Week! They wrote ‘Gail is one of those volunteers that goes above and beyond. No matter what is happening at the archives she is always willing to step up and lend a hand. One of her main projects is to go through different publications for mentions of people from the south peace, saving that material for researchers in the future.’

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grande Prairie & Area nominates Douglas Liu for Volunteer of the Week! They wrote ‘Douglas Liu has donated countless hours of volunteering to our organization. He is extremely dedicated to helping and supporting organizations and people in the community. He gives a 100% each time and always has a positive attitude.’

FCSS Town of Wembley nominates Wendy Kelm for Volunteer of the Week! They wrote ‘Wendy has been a member of the FCSS Advisory Board since 2009. She is dedicated volunteer who cares deeply for her community and has helped many organizations in a variety of ways. She recently helped with our “Project Gingerbread” sorting gift bags for 400 students in Wembley. Wendy always finds the time and energy to help in her community and we appreciate her dedication!!’

FCSS Town of Wembley nominates Becky Ward-Ketchum for Volunteer of the Week! They wrote’ Becky is currently a volunteer on the FCSS Advisory Board. This may be a new committee for her, but she has been an active volunteer in our community for many years. She recently assisted Santa and his Elf during the “Wave HELLO to Santa Parade” and helped sort our “Project Gingerbread” gift bags for our 400 students in Wembley. Becky was very helpful advocating for our upcoming “Sleigh Bell Dinner to Go” and collected items for the gift bags that will be delivered to our community seniors. She is enthusiastic and willing to help her community grow and prosper!!’

FCSS Town of Wembley nominates Brenda Campbell for Volunteer of the Week! They wrote ‘Brenda has been a dedicated volunteer for the Wembley Advisory Board since 2016. She has given countless hours of her time for the various events that we have hosted in our community. Most recently she was one of Santa’s Elves at our “Wave HELLO to Santa Parade” and helped sort and deliver 400 gift bags for our “Project Gingerbread’ for our local school students. Next week she will be assisting with our “Sleigh Bell Dinner to Go” where we will be delivering meals and gift bags to seniors in our community. Brenda is always willing to help in our community!!’

FCSS Town of Wembley nominates Kelly Peterson for Volunteer of the Week! They wrote ‘Kelly has been an active member of the FCSS Advisory Board for 2 years. He has given many hours of his time at our local events – most recently at our “Wave HELLO to Santa Parade and sorting gift bags for our “Project Gingerbread” for 400 students who attend school in Wembley and the “Sleigh Bell Dinner To GO” for our local seniors. Kelly has been a role model volunteer in our community in many organizations over the years.’

Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning nominates Iuliia Lakhtychkina for Volunteer of the Week! They wrote ‘Our volunteer tutor Iuliia has been doing exceptional work at the Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning by developing interactive and engaging lesson plans to meet her student’s learning needs. She attends and completes training courses to implement strategies within her teaching to better support her learner. Iuliia provides a very positive learning environment as she is patient and attentive. We appreciate and value her commitment in helping her student succeed!’

Meals on Wheels nominates Therese Chauvin for Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Therese helped deliver meals this summer through CWL, as well as, filling in when we are short volunteers. We appreciate all that you do for us Therese!’

Art Gallery of Grande Prairie nominates Jesseca Gagnon for Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Jesseca recently started volunteering for us a few months ago and has been a blessing. She is always on time and ready assemble free creativity kits for the community.’
